I agree to follow organic gardening practices at the Garden by using only organic soil, fertilizer, compost and mulch. I will use organic seeds and transplants whenever possible. I agree to use only herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides that are approved for organic gardening (OMRI certified). If I have any questions on these rules I will contact the DCGO Board (dcgobrookrunpark@gmail.com) for clarification and instruction.

As a member of this/these teams, I understand I will be receiving email communications from the group leader. I agree to be contacted via email, actively check for emails, respond to the group leader and participate in activities whenever possible.

Upon 30 days of the assignment of my Garden plot, I agree to weed it, fill it with organic soil/compost, and plant it. I agree to keep my plot weeded and watered. I understand that during the prime growing months, I will need to monitor my plot no less than once per week to check for weeds and pests. I agree to promptly address any pest issues using organic methods. I agree to promptly remove any diseased or dead plant material and dispose of it in the waste containers provided. If I elect to use a timed watering system, I will carefully monitor the timing to ensure my plot and surrounding areas are not flooded.

I understand that while the primary purpose of the community garden is to produce food, planting ornamentals is acceptable if those ornamentals attract beneficial pollinators. I agree to plant crops and install decorative items in my plot in a manner that does not unreasonably encroach on another gardener’s space or access to sunlight. I agree to keep all my plant material within the confines of my plot.

I agree to harvest only from my own plot unless given permission by the plot owner. I agree to harvest all produce in my plot and not allow produce to go to waste. If I am unable to harvest my produce, I will contact dcgoharvest@gmail.com to direct the Harvest Team to collect it for donation to the food bank.

I agree to extend courtesy to all Garden members and the City of Dunwoody by: visiting the garden only the same operating hours as Brook Run Park; driving and parking only on designated paved areas and the gravel parking lot east of the garden area; using language appropriate for a family environment; not using tobacco or alcohol while in the garden; keeping pets outside the garden (service animals excluded); making way for the mowers when present; keeping the garden gates closed when I am in the garden; and locking the gate(s) if I am the last person leaving the garden.

I will place all unwanted plant material in the waste containers provided. If I fill a waste container I agree to roll the container to the curb area and if possible replace it with an empty container from the curb area

If I am temporarily unable to work my plot due to illness or work/family commitments, I will designate another individual to care for my plot and notify the Board (DCGOBrookrunpark@gmail.com) immediately.

If I am permanently unable to continue working my plot for any reason I will notify the Board immediately, with the understanding that I will be moved to affiliate member status for the balance of the year and that my plot will be reassigned to a new member. If I fail to maintain my plot, I understand that my plot will be considered surrendered and reassigned to a new member after I fail to answer two notifications of same from the Board.

I understand that my plot rental period is for the calendar year. Plot renewal for subsequent years must be completed by December 31 of the current year. While every effort is made to control plot rental fees, the Board reserves the right to increase plot rental fees if warranted.
